According to a June 2, 2014 article written by Brian Deagon at Investors.com, PCs (including laptops) have been on the decline due to the widespread use of the smartphones and tablets. Mikako Kitagawa, a PC industry analyst at Gartner states that "In the past, the PC was the only device consumers could use to connect to the Internet." He goes on to say that consumers now use their Smartphones or tablets to surf the web on the go.
