About The Self-Storage Associations
The not-for-profit Self Storage Association (SSA) began in 1975 and serves as the official trade organization and voice for the United States and international self-storage industry. As a registered lobbying entity, they represent over 48,000 facilities before the U.S. Congress and other agencies. Internationally, the SSA represents an additional 12,000 self-storage facilities.
Additionally, there are many state associations across the United States that provide opportunities for self-storage owners and operators to learn, share and improve their business. State associations offer a support system for state-specific lien law and auction questions, building code issues, property tax strategies, education and industry visibility.
